Internet Marketing Gurus – Don’t Believe The Hype!

Hi everybody, we’d like to emphasize the fact that it is very important to get information from reputable sources before you jump in the internet marketing arena. When you’re just starting in the internet marketing business, it is very important to seek the help from experts and established gurus in the field, and you can use the help of the budding internet marketing community to help you access the right information from the right gurus.

Just because a so called internet guru is popular, doesn’t mean that their products are right for you

Let me explain a little further. A few years ago, me and my wife attended a seminar by a well known guru in the field. This guru had made his name in the internet marketing world with his rags to riches story and the myriad of people he helped succeed through the years.

So I and Sam were prepared to get some really good information. But a few minutes into the seminar, we realized that this guy was quite rude and I almost had to physically stop my wife from walking out. The truth was, as good and as respected a marketer this guy was, he couldn’t help us succeed in internet marketing more than he could help us fly to the moon.

So to make a long story short, this guy was just wrong for us. Every marketing guru thinks that their method is the best and only way to succeed. Well that’s just plain wrong. No matter how long a particular guru has been in the field, the way they transmit their knowledge will sometimes overshadow the content and make it worthless to you as a listener.

Not to mention that much of these so called “gurus” these days are self-proclaimed. Meaning that they really have limited knowledge of a particular field, but still refer to themselves as experts. Sometimes, these gurus are really newbies trying to lure other newbies into thinking that they’re the real deal. Once again, make sure to conduct a thorough background check on any guru before you attend their seminar or buy their product. Go on discussion boards and ask for a second opinion from your fellow marketers and only go for gurus that are really successful in the field.

Vital You Understand This Point

– Make sure that the guru you decide to follow fits your personality. After all, you’re spending your hard earned money on this advice, so make sure that you have chemistry and that you feel comfortable with the said guru.

So if I was to give you one piece of advice, it would be to take everything with a grain of salt and weigh your options before you decide to enroll for any program. I’m not saying that you should refrain from participating to any seminar given by a guru, all I’m saying is that you should be selective with whom you listen to, make sure you know exactly what you’re getting into, and make sure the information provided will be beneficial to you in your line of business.

Important tip

Make sure to do your research, go on the forums, and also ask for opinions from other attendees at the seminar; relationships are key in this business. Also interact with some of the key speakers at these seminars, who knows, you could build a partnership that could last for years.

If you come across someone who is trustworthy and you feel may help you in your line of work and provides good information, go ahead and try one of their entry level products to test the waters. Make sure top check if they’re willing to help you every step of the way and how fast can you expect to see results. Also make sure that their customer service is top notch and suits your needs. Then and only then can you invest more of your time and money on their products and services and hopefully build a steady and increasing revenue stream with your online business.
